Weight Loss - Getting Motivated & Losing That Weight Now.

From the desk of Anthony Buchalka

Thanks for joining me as we look further into the issue of weight loss and the motivation it requires it takes to be successful.

Weight Loss and Motivation

We lead busy lives so sometimes it isn’t a matter of motivation that hurts us from getting things done.

We rush to and from work. We eat on the run. We rarely schedule enough time for exercise. As a result of this, our health is suffering. Obesity rates are on the rise, we’re chronically stressed, and we rarely take the time to care for our bodies.

Not good is it?

Finding weight loss motivation, therefore, can be a challenge.

The irony of it is that when we neglect our health, we no longer have the energy and stamina to accomplish all that we need to. Instead of concentrating at that important meeting, we find ourselves growing sleepy. Our work time is less productive so we need to pull in longer hours, thus perpetuating the problem.

And these are just a few of the downfalls of neglecting your health.

This is where motivation and weight loss comes in.

If you have a weight problem ( any many of us do), you need both.

Fortunately, there are a few very simple things you can do to maintain health and help you learn how to lose weight. These form the basis of a healthy lifestyle and are relatively easy to implement.

Focus on one element at a time.

As you master one step, move on to the other until all of these become habit. Before you know it, you not only have the right weight loss motivation, you will be much thinner!

You can do it. You really can.

Drink water. Our bodies are made primarily of water so we need to drink a lot of it each day, at least eight cups (consult with your Doctor if you have any medical conditions first though).

However, what most of us don’t realize is that when we drink beverages such as coffee and soda, this does not replace water.

They are diuretics and are relatively unhealthy. In fact, they increase our need for water. Stick with the pure stuff and you will find that you feel more energetic throughout the day. It also helps aid weight loss. Simply making sure you drink enough water can help build your confidence and your motivation because you will start to see results.

Learn to Exercise. Exercise is another health building element and one that can bring about weight loss. But despite what you may think, it is possible to get enough exercise throughout the day without stepping foot in the gym!

Walk up and down the stairs at work. Park further away whenever you go somewhere. Begin each day with some sit-ups and pushups, followed by some stretches. All this activity can add up. Of course, if you would like to start going to the gym, it can only help you more. Exercise helps prevent disease, helps you maintain your weight, gives you energy, helps you understand how to lose weight, gives you motivation, and weight loss will eventually come naturally.

Fad diets are a no-no. Fad diets are dangerous because most instruct you to eliminate an important food group or nutrient such as fat or carbohydrates. It may seem as if people have the weight loss motivation to carry through with diets such as these, but in reality, they seem to only work for a short time. This can hurt motivation after a while because you may stop seeing results.

Eat a Balanced Diet. The solution, then, for motivation and weight loss, is to learn how to eat a balanced diet. The human body requires a balance of nutrients and foods in order to achieve optimum health. Consult with a nutritionist who will help you balance your diet to suit your individual needs.

In general, a balanced diet includes one that has all the food groups present. You need to eat enough fruits and vegetables, some amounts of healthy fats, healthy carbohydrates, and enough protein. However, the term “enough” is both gender specific and it changes based on the individual. Things such as lifestyle, gender, activity level, and climate can affect what exactly the perfect balanced diet is for you.

Get inspired. Sometimes, when it comes to motivation and weight loss, the missing link is the fact that people who desire to lose weight need to get inspired.

What are the reasons for losing weight?

Those will be your inspiration and eventually your motivation. Make a list of all the things that inspire you and post it where you can see it. Cut out pictures of the way you would like to like. A lot of people use models as their inspiration. Other people find their weight loss motivation because they have health problems.

Wanting to rise above and fix their health problems is there inspiration and their motivation.

Don't Be Afraid To Get Help. Some people simply don’t know how to lose weight. These are the people who benefit from getting help.

You could hire a trainer, life coach, nutritionist, or anyone else who you feel will help you during your journey to lose weight. Some people find their weight loss motivation at their therepist’s, others by speaking to others.

Determine what kind of help you need, and then get it. You can do it. Picture yourself at your new weight with your 'new look' and hold on to that picture.

All the best.
