Positive Thinking - What Can It Do For You?

Positive Thinking – A Powerful Tool Or Overrated Hype?

From the desk of Anthony Buchalka

Hi there friend,

The term 'Positive Thinking' has been a well used one over the last few tears hasn't it?

It seems that it's often seen as a magic 'fix all' for our relationships, our personal lives and even our professional working lives.

But, is it really a powerful concept that can have a dramatic impact on our life?

In short, YES! Absolutely yes……

==> Positive people are not only naturally happy, they seem to radiate success.

==> Negative people, on the other hand, tend to feel as if their lives are filled with doom. I'm sure you can think of examples of both positive and negative people in your life?

Negative people often believe they either don’t deserve to be successful, or that nothing good will ever happen to them. For them, positive thinking is very hard to do.

Those who live their lives thinking positive and those who are negative could both experience the same situation but understand it differently. (is the glass half 'full' or half 'empty'?).

The positive person is likely to take a situation and try to figure out what they learned. They may also assume that everything will work out. In other words, positive people tend to turn into successful people more easily than those who live their lives in negativity.

Certain people know the power of positive thinking.

Positive thinking is a powerful tool and is used by those who wish to achieve their goals and dreams. Negativity does not make your life happier and easier.

The good news is that even if you are negative, you can learn how to be positive. Beyond positive thinking there is a life filled with success, and it is fairly easy to learn the tools to do it.

Why it works.

Why is it better to do positive thinking rather than negative thinking?

Well, positive people tend to believe that their lives will work out. They are natural goal setters. Not only that, but they tend to believe in themselves. When you decide that you want to be a success, one of the quickest ways you can do that is by learning how to be positive. Tap into the power of positive thinking and you will understand that what you can achieve in life is only as limited as your thinking.

If you think big, you can truly achieve anything by thinking positive!

Identify negative thoughts.

Many negative people don’t even realize when they are having a self destructive thought.

So before you can banish the negativity in your life, you need to understand when negative thoughts occur.

Pay attention to your thoughts as they occur and write them down. Then, write down their positive counterpart. Pretty soon, you won’t need to do this exercise because the positive thoughts will just come naturally. Few can see past their own negative thoughts and beliefs, let alone see beyond positive thinking.

If you can look past thinking and into the future, you will start to understand that positive thinking is what gets you ahead in life. It provides the cornerstone.

Smile.

A smile lights up your face and helps others perceive you as a happy, positive person. A smile expresses the power of positive thinking by showing others that you radiate what you believe. However, those who look sullen are seldom considered positive.

As human beings, we tend to react and behave how we feel others perceive us. Smiling not only helps convince yourself that you are positive, it helps convince others. The two work together. If you fail to smile, you fail to show others that by thinking positive, you can change yourself and your situation.

Be grateful.

Beyond positive thinking, there is something much deeper.

Positive people also understand that being grateful for all they have in life is something that contributes to their attitude. It helps to make a list of at least ten things you are grateful for. When you feel a negative thought brewing, consult the list. It will help put your life into perspective. Being grateful and thankful can help turn a negative thought into a positive thought quite easily.

Positive People.

The power of positive thinking is also contagious.

If you have a problem with thinking positive, consider surrounding yourself with positive people. Once you see how other, more positive people act, you will begin to adopt these behaviors. Once you start acting like a positive person, you will actually start to become more positive. Beyond positive thinking there is a person who radiates this energy to others. Why not pick up on some of this energy from others?

On the other hand, if you surround yourself with negative people, you will also adopt these behaviors. If you think about your life or the life of those around you, you will probably see examples of this.

Exercise.

Exercise makes you feel good and can help you increase your ability for positive thinking.

After a good exercise session, it is hard to deny that the glow makes you happy. Happy people are also positive people. To cash in on the power of positive thinking, one thing that people realize is that you always need to replenish your “happy reserve”. Some people do this by eating, which is not health. A great way to do this is to exercise. Thinking positive sometimes does take work and can be mentally challenging.

Exercise helps balance that all out by balancing your life and increasing your level of health. Exercise helps put your life in balance, and when you have balance, it is much easier to engage in positive thinking.

Well, that's just a snippet on positive thinking.

Hope you find it helpful.

All the best.

warmly,
