The Amazing Power Of Positive Thinking And What It Can Do For You.
From the (tidy for a change) desk of Anthony Buchalka
Being with positive people 'rubs off' doesn't it? I mean it's harder to feel negative when surrounded by positive and uplifting people. Let's look a the powerful subconscious effect our friends and those around us can have on us and some tips that may dramatically improve your life.
Want to be thinking positive? Seek out positive people!
You sense that you tend to treat things very negatively. You know you want to be positive, but everyone around you is negative and you find yourself reacting the same way as them. It is true that positive thinking does not come easily to some.
However, it is also true that depending on who you are around, this can also affect how you react. If you want to be a positive person, sometimes the easiest way to get there is to seek out positive people.
There is no denying the power of positive thinking. In fact, it is quite contagious. That is why when you are around positive people, thinking positive gets easier. When you see others doing it, you begin to mimic their behavior. At first, when you mimic, you may not really believe that you are thinking positive.
Using the power of positive thinking.
You will notice that positive thinking comes more automatically when you base your actions on what others are doing.
Most of this mimicking is often subconscious. We may not realize we are doing it. But knowing that we do it is one of the tools that can lead us to take advantage of the power of positive thinking. Here is some advice that will help you in your quest for thinking positive.
Do you have negative friends?
The first thing to ask yourself when you are trying to surround yourself with positive thinking people is if you have negative friends. If you have a severe problem with negativity, chances are your friends are negative, too. Observe their actions and behaviors and observe yourself when you are with them.
Do you tend to gossip, complain, and have negative thoughts and feelings when you are around them? If so, then chances are you are hanging out with negative people.
Find positive thinking people.
If you realize that your friends are quite negative, then you should definitely seek out more positive people in your life. If there aren’t people who are positive in your current circle, it is worth your while to find them. This is easier than you think because there are positive people everywhere.
If you belong to a church or community group, attend some of the meetings and worship services and try to figure out who seems positive and who seems negative. Strike up a conversation and if possible, seek out their friendship. Keep in mind that you can’t force yourself to be friends with people, but you can put in a good effort.
Strengthen friendships.
Sometimes, the power of positive thinking cannot be manifested until you strengthen your friendships. Sure, the new people that you meet may be experts at thinking positive, but if you don’t experience a deeper friendship with them over time you may not feel the benefits of this. Part of being a friend means that you not only learn about them and be part of their lives, but they do the same for you.
Stop negative thoughts.
When you finally do find people who are positive thinkers, try not to be negative around them. Just as you may pick up on their positive behaviors, they may also pick up on your negative ones. This can completely defeat the purpose of you befriending them because they engage in positive thinking.
Thinking positive is something that they may do naturally, but they may also mimic your negative behavior. If this happens, t hen you don’t really stand a chance of changing your behavior. To be safe, try not to say negative things around them. This alone will help you fall out of the habit of negative thinking and into the habit of positive thinking.
Find joy.
It is true that joyous people think positive thoughts. You may find that your new positive friends have a lot of joy in their lives. What is it that makes them so happy? If you are going to benefit from their power of positive thinking then it is worth your while to find out what it is. Everyone has their own definition of what joy is just like everyone has different ways of finding their own sense of joy.
Once you find yours you will be well on your way to the world of positive thinking.
Conclusion.
It is true that positive people are happier. If you are one of those negative thinkers, you know you need to change your behavior. This may not always be easy. But one thing that can help is to surround yourself with positive people. This is a great way to change your ways because you can learn how to be positive by mimicking their behavior. Just be careful not to be negative around them because they may pick up on your behavior.
Thinking positive is easily teachable and easily learned. The best way to do both these things is through positive people.
Keep in mind that you may need to make some new friends but the process is well worth it.
warmly,
